Home. Eaten. Chilled out. Got away from the computer for an hour. All is much better…

This expectation by The People in ChargeTM that the People Working for a SongTM actually enjoy working so much that they will finish things over the weekend is just nuts. I sometimes mention to people at work that I will probably spend time over the weekend working on things just to catch up, but never is that to imply that I’m going to finish every damn thing before Monday morning. If there happens to be something that I have to finish, and if I intend to finish it over the weekend, then I will spell it out. This weekend, I did no such thing. Of course that didn’t stop The People in ChargeTM from sending out what can only be called “panicked” e-mails on Sunday evening complaining that some sites showed no progress over the weekend! Now, let’s not even go into about how anybody might be able to check those emails from home nowadays, but do they realize that on a typical weekend that most of our stuff would show no progress, because, well… listen close, this is a hard one… we are closed on the weekends.

Well, I survived the morning ambush. Explained that my weekend was mine and that I would work on their stuff now, and yes, it would be finished in plenty of time for the meeting tomorrow which I knew about, which is why I did not stress over the weekend about it and neither should they have.

Anywho… their stress adds to my stress, so of course I sat there through lunch (by myself… they went. Hrmm.) But I finished the damn thing, then took off an hour early even though it’s the next to the last day of the month and should thusly be a late-nighter. Shyeah, right.

Well. Food is settled. Best get changed and get to working out. Must be ready to watch Trading Spaces: They hated it tonight. =)
