Your friendly neighborhood uninformative government website….

So, because it is my intention to do my best to screw FNIS, who has treated me so well, I decided to go file for unemployment. I researched it, hit the website, had a map to the funky Dekalb location I have to go to even though I’m SO close to another county’s office, had a list of what I was supposed to bring… and get there to find out that they only process new applicants at certain times of the day, and I had over an hour to kill.

BUT anyway… let’s enjoy the holidays, no? I have a big fat severance check which should buy a lot of alcohol for New Years, but no idea where to go now. First I thought we’d be in Bristol, but the vacation days didn’t work out… then I thought, well until last night, that we’d be at Bruce & Jane’s, but that has turned out to be a New Years Day ONLY party. Mom seems to think no job is a perfect reason to drive immediately back up to Bristol to be with her, but she really doesn’t ever drive anywhere and has no concept of how someone might just be damned sick of doing it. Jason is trying to encourage me to drive up to Billy’s party now that it looks like we are in town, and I guess I’ll run that by the crew and see what they think. It looks like there might be a lot of fun to be had at Underground this year, though, and I have always kinda wanted to be in town for New Years. I guess we’ll just see…

Meanwhile, in my idle time, I’ve been enjoying my Christmas-expanded DVD collection, which includes LOTR: ROTK extended, Strongbad Emails DVD, Gilmore Girls season 2, and, my long awaited, The Young Ones: Every Stoopid Episode. =)
