Our first meeting was over cheese, remember? Don Pablos, and your date (our friend) was late, so you got stuck hanging out with total strangers who just came up to you because you looked like the kind of person we wanted to join us for dinner. Screw who his date might actually be, we wanted you. =)

Who was this crazy girl who’d left such a mark on our friend over just a short weekend? Halloween photos of you as the pregnant nun posed in mock-puking pose over a toilet endeared your sense of humor to us forever. Girls nights of more cheese and laughing at hot guy-on-guy action while we made art out of dressing up tampons soon ensued.

The bond was forged as a soul-sister that DNA forgot to provide. Brilliant and beautiful, razor wit, nerves of steel, bracelets of gold, and with or without the magic lasso was able to prove she might just be kinky after all.

I’ve never been able to live up to the Most Fuss Made Over a Birthday^TM morning that you provided while you were a roommate, but I’m also still having nightmares from the times strange giggling people burst into my room in the wee morning hours just for fun. When you left, you forgot your cat, btw.

Life keeps dragging me apart from people that I care very much about, especially those I call family and best friends, but somehow, despite the distance of time and space, a bond still remains that allows us to fall back into step without missing a beat. You easily fell into that category of more than acquaintance, but lifelong friend.

Anyway… you were there, I bet you remember all this stuff already. Mostly this stuff just spilled out while I was thinking about how best to commemorate the date of birth of a very special person, whom we are all very happy to know and have the opportunity to share the days of our lives with.
