Monday fun day!

Welp… we didn’t get a water bill this month, so I haven’t paid one…. I’ve been waiting to hear something one way or another, and today the word came in the form of a big orange notice on our door that DeKalb County is turning off our water.

Until, of course, I explained that every resident in the complex got a disconnect notice today– big orange notices on every door! Nobody has gotten a water bill this month, and, according to the nice girl at the office who is part of the “new ownership”, the previous owners were apparently pocketing our checks for the water bill each month, payable to them, and not actually paying DeKalb county. Perhaps they needed the money for all the repair work on the burst pipes they had been trying to do. Who knows, but as a result…. wheee! Whole complex is threatened with shut off in 10 days.

What fun!

Look on the bright side–at least NO ONE got a bill…my mailman has been misdelivering mail (bills, of course) for the last few months and I don’t know they’re missing until I get slapped with late fees. 😛

That’s pretty rotten of your apartment complex to do that. I think I’m glad I chose not to live there. 😉 Though the wayward mailman isn’t fun to deal with either.

Our mailman is probably the MOST reliable person having to do with anything related to our apartment complex.

Another in a long series of subtle messages that you should move …maybe inside the perimeter…

You know… driving to the bank today I passed a couple houses for sale and thought… “Wow, we could look at buying one of these and technically live inside the perimeter, though we are 2 blocks from our current apartment.”

So, we are “technically” OTP, but we’re in spitting distance of the perimeter. I like being right by the interstate… we can get into town in no time. When we finally go house hunting (and what are we waiting for?) we’ll probably end up farther from everything rather than closer…. No fun. =\
