Silently Screaming

Posted in Crazy Wisdom on Thursday, April 3, 2008 at 12:47 pm by flerly.

Random rage from emails is not a good thing… best to figure out a way to deal with it… stay calm.

Mary is on vacation until Wednesday next week, which is fine — she deserves one. This leave me solo handling 6 huge critical tickets, which pretty much means all our shit is broke for all our sites and customers from all corners of the country are very angry with me as a result.

Meanwhile, I’m having a hard time finding some creativity to design some office site redesigns for six waiting customers, and they are getting antsy. One of which, is getting angry. She’s emailed Mac complaining that I’m not responsive when she asks me about the status of their redesign — nevermind the fact that I have responded and fixed the five other problems with her site that she has emailed me about over the last two days. What did you think, lady? My clone was answering your emails and fixing your shit, while the calm and zen actual me, with a clear focus, has tapped into a wellspring of creativity and come up with a fantastic new look for your company site.

I am very tired, and that doesnt help me find the will to creatively give a facelift to a website that is currently massively broken… let alone six of them.

I hate stress and I am beginning to loathe my co-workers.
I hope that your day or week goes better!

    Ditto.

I was silently screaming during the 5 hours I spent today in 2 different conference rooms, listening to the same tired bullshit.

I am most ready for a massive career overhaul. I use the word “overhaul” because one of the buzzwords of today’s Extreme Meeting Extravaganza (“change”) has been over-used to the point of becoming meaningless.
