Bootcamp Day 6

Posted in Crazy Wisdom,Workout on Saturday, April 14, 2007 at 10:35 am by flerly.

Well, I have my choice of a list of homework assignments (HAs) today, since my studio class is rescheduled, but I’m already off to a poor Saturday start. Didn’t set any alarm today, stayed up too late last night, and didn’t get out of bed until almost 10 today. Not exactly the way to keep up a sleep schedule, I know, but I do feel a lot better today after all that rest.

There are three HAs that have ab work — 200 Sit Ups or 200 Crunches, 200 Leg Lifts & 200 Jumping Jacks or 100 Squats, 100 Lunges, 100 Sit Ups and 100 Push Ups. Not sure I could actually pull off any of those today, so I think I’ll just pick a cardio HA, and just do some alternative ab work based on my reading yesterday.

I found: How to Do Full Sit Ups Properly
and: If You CAN’T, How to Get Around Doing a Basic Sit Up

I think I’ll try some modified situps, and the HA of 15 Minute Jog & 10 Minute Stretch today. Will Update.

Update 4pm: On the treadmill, it wasn’t so bad. Slower pace of 4.2 but jogging not walking for 15 minutes wasn’t beyond me. Stretches felt good and made me want to just go to sleep in the floor… stretching indoors on carpet is so much nicer than outdoors on wet grass.

In addition, JT held my feet for 5 full situps. Have to concentrate to find the muscles to work for that last lift in the sit up, and there is a lot of pain involved in doing it. Did about 20 crunches after, and my stomach is now sore constantly even after stretching it out a bit. In theory, you can work abs every day, as they need less time to recoup, but I’m not so sure.
