more symmetrical book stacking…

Well, two trips to Office Depot later, finally got Jim’s bursting U-haul boxes full of books stacked into a nice neat wall which is much more manageable. Probably even have enough boxes left to tackle the other ones that he managed to drag upstairs, but I think I’ll leave that for a project when he gets back from house sitting. I did, hopefully, remedy his lighting situation, though. A couple of $5 desktop can-lights and a new 3-way bulb for the big ugly lamp that was on my desk helped, and of course had to get a cutie new little beaded lamp for my desk and a cutie new lampshade for my reading lamp. Brad inherited the desk lamp that Jim was using to light his whole room, and I think everyone is now handled, lighting-wise. Oh yeah, hung a cute string of patio lights out back, too. Although it is cool to find that they sell strings of lights year-round, it seems they don’t actually sell those cool outdoor extension cords anytime except Christmas…. those being the nice green ones that have an on/off switch built in, so you don’t have to leave the end unplugged when you want it off. Will have to try to remember to pick one of those up when the Christmas gear shows up in stores — sometime in August, right?

All in all, had a great relaxing weekend. Made two, count them two, complete rounds of the Garden Ridge to fulfill all my girly shopping desires, where I got the lamps, some candles, a tray to try to contain the cat food area, and a floor pillow, which I thought might be nice for sitting on playing the Playstation, but which Kitty seems to think is her new cat bed. Of course, Brad’s package from his friend showed up this morning, which I think is just some RAM packed in a nice puffy-envelope, has also made a nice new Kitty bed on the kitchen table.

Oh well, enough babble. I have several tickets and some actual creative work to get done today– have two sites wanting redesigns!

Before I go, I’ll just impart this wisdom that James’ grandmother just emailed to me:

Five tips for a woman….

1. It is important that a man helps you around the house and has a job.

2. It is important that a man makes you laugh.

3. It is important to find a man you can count on and doesn’t lie to you.

4. It is important that a man loves you and spoils you.

5. It is important that these four men don’t know each other.

Addendum: “I’m buried alive. Please bring coffee.”This cracked me up.
