How blooming inconvenient…

Posted in Crazy Wisdom on Thursday, July 31, 2003 at 10:31 am by flerly.

Good thing I happened to notice that my pay stub isn’t just a receipt of direct deposit this week.. it’s an actual check which I’ll be required to trek to the bank with on my own. Curses.

I was told to expect the same thing, so I was all prepared to trek to the bank after strolling in so late…only to find that my check was actually deposited into my account last night.

wachovia is so messed up. they’re like, “hi, we’re going to tell all of the people who put money into or take money out of your accounts that your account number will be changing and therefore, you’ll need to set up all of the individual authorizations again, but we’re not going to tell you, our customers this, just because that would be too easy. and then, when someone gives us money for you with your old account number, we’re going to give it to you anyway and hope that it gets to the right person”.

yanno, i’m all about getting money when i’m technically not supposed to. and, on the flipside to that, i’m not all about having money taken out of my account when i didn’t actually spend it. right under my payroll deposit is a mysterious charge, a $50.00 purchase that i allegedly made from *J S I*. wtf? what is *J S I* and what did i buy there?

anyhoo. hi. how ya been, stranger? 🙂

God damn fucking piece of shit Wachovia is the Bank of Satan, incarnate. What a bunch of cocksuckers! Oh the things I can see on my desk at this moment that I’d like to shove up their collective ass and see how it feels to them.

If they really DID stop all my auto withdrawals and credits this month without notice to me, maybe this is a good time to go open a bank account someplace else, damnit. God.. they have no concept of how they fuck me on a regular basis.

    Great. Just great.

Ya see? Banks just generally suck ass. They hold your money hostage, and force you to pay for the privilege.

..Kit and I have the right of it.

You overdrew your account and they cancelled it. That’s hardly “having the right of it.”

I can’t believe they’re drawing flerly’s checks on actual checks if she had direct deposit, though – that’s crap.

Wait… this means that banks don’t hold your money hostage and make you pay for the privlege?

    Wow. Your argument is brilliant.

No. I don’t think they do. I think it’s much more convenient to be able to pay your bills online, or on the phone, have your money deposited so that you DON’T have to deal with a teller, and have an account that makes it possible for you to use a checkcard, even if you’re only doing it in emergencies when you have no cash on you.

Then again, I might not have to pay a $2.50 charge a month if certain people didn’t overdraw their accounts by six bills.

Perhaps if you had ANY credit whatsoever, then you would be able to have a savings account where you would be gaining interest.

I dunno if they generally suck ass. I’m pretty sure Wachovia has the market cornered on financial ass-sucking. Generally they are pretty damned convenient… I almost never carry cash, or not much. USUALLY pay check goes in automatically, bills get paid automatically on a date I preset and don’t have to keep up with, and I travel all over creation only having to keep up with one plastic check card that spends like cash and doesn’t cost me a dime to use or have. USUALLY I like it.

Personally, I don’t know how people like Kit (and you maybe? you did group you two) survive having to cash paychecks someplace without a bank account, probably paying a fee for that service, then paying bills in money orders, which cost a fee to get, and having to do it all by mail, which costs stamps, and it all just sounds like a huge hassle to me.

    Blah.. anyway.

Yeah, it can be a hassle, but sometimes it is kinda fun.

Wachovia doesn’t charge you extra for the ass-sucking, I hope?

I’ve screened some of your posts here, so you guys can keep this stuff private. Please don’t take offense. Sorry if my mentioning the evil institutions of finance has brought up any bad blood amongst you. Money issues are always tense ones, especially among friends.

Someone once said: “If you loan someone $20, then never see that person again, consider it money well spent.”

Someone else once said: “Never loan money to a friend in need. If you have it to give, do so as you will, with full knowledge that it is money you don’t need to ever see again.”

But I once said: “Hey, can I borrow $20?”

    So go figure.

Don’t worry, the worst of it was private. We took it off. Mostly due to the respect of your journal, it’s posted elsewhere, though I don’t know as said person is removed from my journal. I’m sorry it had to start at your journal, it was just a long time in the coming. I really, truly apologize for you being involved in any way. It’s something I should have just settled and ended long ago. Sorry, little bride.
