Well, there’s not a whole hell of a lot else I can do right now it seems…

Afternoon, y’all. At high noon here our power went out, which I took as a lovely cue that I should get my ass to lunch. So, I grabbed my check and headed merrily to the Wachovia a block or two away, and was pleased to find it nearly deserted. Of course, I was less than pleased to find the ATM out of order and the big sign on the door saying they were closed due to a power outage, too. Luckily for me, the sign included the location of the two nearest branches, so I headed off for another bank. Had a lovely drive, no problem with my deposit, found a fairly close Driver’s License location, and a big Pottery Store, had some lunch in the car, listened to my HP5 on tape, and decided to stay gone at least an extra half hour just for fun.

Well, getting back about 1:30, I find out that the power has only just come back on, not more than 15 minutes ago, and we are far from having our systems back online. Joy of joys, if this were any other day than the last one of the month, I would be back in the car, taking a leisurely ride home to work out the rest of the day from there. But no, I’m stuck here waiting for systems to come back up so I can finish last minute new site issues, as if this isn’t the end of the last full month we’ll be in this office. As if anybody gives a shit what our numbers are. As if we even have a goal number we’re shooting for. Our numbers are hell this month, Jonathan told me yesterday. Everything is falling through. Yeah, well, go figure.
