My turn to ramble..

Posted in Crazy Wisdom on Wednesday, August 27, 2003 at 10:02 am by flerly.

Stevie D is here. The schedule is full… breakfast, then a meeting every 15 minutes with “those who will be retained for long term employment,” which includes me at precisely 11:30, last appointment before lunch. I’ve never met this guy before, but as I’ve mentioned before, have a history of being annoyed by him in emails when he was but a lowly sales guy.

Steve, Gotta watch that reply all button. Don’t think everyone needed to know about your fruitbaskets… unless you wanted to include us all on that fruitbasket list, too.

Sorry Kim…. You will get more than a fruit basket 🙂

Of course, I never did. Well, perhaps I did. He didn’t use “reply-all” again. That’s a nice gift.

Ugh. We’re starting this day with a company wide meeting at 10. I walked into the break room this morning and found a HUGE platter of fudge brownies all wrapped up in cellophane, and immediately had the strange thought: Great, we’re going to have a big mass suicide by poisoned brownies. That’s one way to keep from laying anybody else off. Morbid today I guess.

In other news… Married life is treating me pretty well. He’s the greatest thing since antiseptics. You mean soap? Yeah.. it’s better than sliced bread.

Tonight I have the option of attending a farewell employee dinner at some joint called Mary Mac’s Tea Room on Ponce, or going home to go to a Georgia Sportbike dinner up at Gwinnett Airport with JamesT. We took a nice long ride last evening, and I can tell the working out is making me stronger. My torso is so much stronger and able to hold myself up off him while I double. Was very enjoyable, and will be even better when I invent either a helmet mounted periscope to see over him directly in front of us or else a potion to give him a one-way see-through head.

Anywho… almost 10. The natives are restless.
