It is going to be a very long day…

I was asked this morning to come in tomorrow to work just like a regular day. Everyone will be doing it. It will be to continue to clear out Remedy/Elementool issues. We’re down from 400 to 212 since yesterday. The goal is down to below 100. I only currently have 40 total left, so I can’t do it alone, of course. Even if I get all mine done, guess what, I’m supposed to support the team and come on in. On the bright side, they told me to tell Kit if she wants to spend a day in the office getting paid for a full day, to cart her butt right on up here Saturday. I think she’s going to. I may have to bring us a card game to play, but we’ll find something to do I guess.

Had a sort of pitiful conversation this morning with James McFarland. He’s so not very happy about being laid off. I think everyone thought he would be invaluable to us. With him gone, we have no support at all here. Who is supposed to take care of our PCs (at the very least)? Who is going to keep Com-stock mail up and running? Who is going to fix our permissions issues? Nobody.. I feel like a heal asking him to help me figure out how things are going to be working in the future without him… like bugging him for the remote access we need, proper passwords, etc, to the new servers. I keep telling him how much I appreciate the help he’s giving while he’s here, but he still seems so sad.

Well, I would say TGIF, but without a real Saturday off to look forward to… blah. Perhaps I should think about lunch, refuel my brain, and get some shit done. I really hope everyone is feeling up to the concert tonight. I could use the change of scenery.
