hmm,

from The Brak Show – Episode 14 – Brakstreet: Men in the Band
Brak: Ohhh, what’s gotten into you, Thunder-cranky? Haha
Thundercleese: I’m on edge! I haven’t been in a battle for weeks! I long for the taste of war!
[singing] War is my profession. War is my obsession.
Nothing I like better than a violent intercession.
Blood must be spilled, thick enough to swim in
As I hear the lamentation of my conquered foes women.
War! It’s good for me!
What’s my name? THUNDERCLEESE!
You want a battle? Take this!
It’s come to my attention that you have no aggression
No time for second guessin’. You need a secret weapon.
AWAY!Brak: Oh, isn’t that nice? Thundercleese has found himself a battle. It’s like I always say, when life gives you lemons, you BLOW THOSE LEMONS TO BITS WITH YOUR LASER CANONS!
I laughed my ass off at this. Do you
General: What is good in life, Conan?
Conan: To destroy your enemies, raze their villages and hear the lamentations of their women.
–from Conan the Barbarian, 1982
Monday, Monday, Monday! Since I spent Saturday in the office, I’m spending Monday at home. Design stuff to do, working out to do, laundry to do, and I’m waiting around for the cable guy to fix our downstairs connection.
Got a massive amount of reworks done in the past four days. Whether she thinks she was helpful or not, Skittles really is a lifesaver. Thank you , Kit, in case I forgot to tell you earlier! Down to a mere 9 open issues now (from my usual 60+) and these are mostly design issues, so that is all good.
Had a lovely surprise phone call from my mom last night. She doesn’t call me! But oh, she did! She had some excitement up there this week… water heater issues.. which it seems caused her to get lots of company for the past few days. Brother from FL drove all the way up to help out, and even Sis & Hub flew in from Alabama. Funny icing story, guys. It is hard to stop at a convenience store in an airplane, isn’t it! Anywho, she sounded very good and very pleased to have had so much company, although she said she was worn out and planned to go to bed by 8 o’clock. We had a good talk. It was sad to tell her the spare room I’d been promising her may be filled with an “extended houseguest” soon, since she doesn’t think she’ll be able to afford to visit this month, but maybe I can change her mind. I guess if she doesn’t visit soon, chances will be very slim with a new total stranger in the house. Oh well.
Saturday night and Sunday were just lazy and great, laying around the house with JamesT and our now sweet and affectionate cat. All very nice. I watched so many home improvement shows this weekend that I dreamt about redecorating all night. I love my new shower curtain and our new blue bathroom, and in my dream I went nuts designing a whole bedroom around that fabric. Building a big headboard, sanding and painting James’ bedroom furniture. Yeah.. I’m mental. Get the net.
I think we will probably be on for climbing tonight–another good reason to work from home today. I guess if that’s the plan, I’d better get my exercise in sooner rather than later, so I won’t be totally worn out later. Good luck wishes out to Stacy on starting Atkins today. I decided to go back to induction phase (be more strict) for a couple weeks, too. She’s already a step ahead of me with her grocery shopping done. That’s also on my list for today.
Oh well. JamesT is awake and it’s creeping up on lunchtime. Better get moving.
