Fear this… (work rant)

con·ster·na·tion   Pronunciation Key:  (knstr-nshn)
n.

A state of paralyzing dismay. See Synonyms at fear.

Everyone – Thank you for the hard effort last week. When was the last time we had an issue list <100 issues? And, that was accomplished with several systems issues causing us problems. This week, I would like us to continue to focus on these fixes, with a target of <40 by the end of the week. Getting to this goal will require a significant push by all. Let's make it happen before Friday so that we can celebrate during the weekend! In light of this goal, we will continue to put a "hold" on new site implementations. I know that this will cause some consternation by clients, but the priority remains the same.. retain our existing customers. If there are any HOT issues, please forward them to Patrick and copy me so that we can manage expectations with those customers.

Cheers,
Jim Wolcott

I am about to escape. Flee. Fly away. I get through a morning meeting all about the new site stuff that has slipped behind with the weeks of downtime and the recent push to get our reworks down, finish prioritizing everything I have to do, then we get this company-wide email. As I noticed this in my in-box, I hear a collective reaction from those around me… “what the… who are they kidding?” Marc intends to make sure his customer list goes straight to Jim so he can “manage their expectations” for him, since Marc is damned tired of putting them off.

On the bright side… wore my new cheap Ross blouse I picked up Saturday with Kit, matched it to a skirt I already had and some red dress shoes I hardly ever wear, and the whole office is fearing my having a job interview today or something. Been asked multiple times who I’m interviewing with. Paranoia, ha ha ha!

I dress nicely, on no particular occasion, just to throw everyone off. Usually, I wear black. It frightens the Users.
