Cold and tired, but at least not hungry….

Time to be thankful, I guess.

I’m thankful that I seem to be invaluable at work, and thus continue to have a job thru this holiday.

I’m thankful that I get to play the “you did it to yourself” card with my mother, when she complains about having to find my house in Atlanta for the first time during heavier holiday traffic. “If only you’d visited any of the other times I asked… ” Poor baby. She’ll make it.

I’m thankful I have a great husband who fetches me lunch when I’m stressed and cleans house while I work, even though he will be at work and won’t even get to see my mom for her first visit.

I’m thankful I have friends that seem to understand when I’m stressed out and don’t call or chat all the time. It’s the holidays. We’re all busy with our lives and family. If I’ve been short, ended conversations abruptly, or not even said hello for a while… I’m sorry. I haven’t forgotten about all y’all.

I’m thankful for the relative lack of LJ Drama lately, though I am sort of thankful for the opportunity to have enough of a ‘community’ of LJers to have drama with… Keeps you from feeling alone, I guess. I’m also thankful for those on my friends list, who like my mother, seem to think that things I write in here might as well have been published full page in The New York Times.

I’m thankful there’s only one more day of work this week. This break is much desired. In case I don’t get time to say it before I flee this city with my mother tomorrow, I hope everyone has a safe and happy Thanksgiving holiday.

Anyway.. this little break is over. Time to do something productive.
