So, yeah… anyway…

We sat down last night to watch another big movie I’d missed along the way… JFK. 17 minutes extra footage, or something like that, for the director’s cut. Why cut 17 minutes out of a movie that is already 3+ hours long? What difference does 17 minutes make? I didn’t see much that I found superfluous except for the multiple-instant-replays of the kill shot as the president’s head goes “Back and to the left… back and to the left. Back. And to the left. Back, and to the left.” Okay, okay, yes, shocking, stop showing it already.

So, of course, I dreamt conspiracy theories about JFK all night long. Slept like crap. Right up until I crawled out of bed to make JT some lunch for work, I was still half-dreaming about spotting two of the so-called hobo’s together again, and confronting them about the last time they were photographed together… blah blah. Man, my brain feels like it worked last night.

I think jumping from a writer like Stephen King, especially one of his non-fiction works which lets his goofy sense-of-humor really come through, to a hardcore science-fiction newcomer novel has been a bit of an abrasive jump. Of course, in two nights reading, I’m nearly done with the new book, Down and Out in the Magic Kingdom, but it’s just so genre….

With Microsoft’s release of Windows Services for UNIX this weekend, JT managed to finally get my computer to communicate to the others in the house for music and file sharing. I can see their shares without SAMBA mounts, which I understand is a good thing, but it seems they can’t quite see mine correctly. At least, JT’s mp3 software can’t see it, as far as adding shared files to the playlist. Like it matters. I have nothing but crap anyway. Mostly copies of what was on the Chalupa music stockpile… and the organization, egad! Good luck finding something you want! Sure there are A B C folders, but is it by first name of the artist, last name of the artist, name of the album, name of the song, or just dropped into some random directory because somebody didn’t like music to be “unsorted” and in the main directory. All the stuff I listen to lately (including the Sea World song) are in another share called “Recent Music” which I’m not even sure is shared correctly for the UNIX guys.

I also created a share called “shared photos” where I dropped copies of the whopping THREE pictures we took at this years motorcycle show. Once again, Buell had the cool bikes to sit on for photos. The best part about this year’s show was that afterwards we went to a used motorcycle dealer and shopped around for things I could actually afford. Still the debate remains…. to sell my car or not to sell my car. Either way, I still need to get into a rider’s course, ASAP.

Oh well. Must put the nose to the grindstone. Spent quite a while yesterday working through what amounted to a very few Remedy tickets. JT even tried to help me with a shell script to help me test image sizes in a bunch of directories to see if they needed the updated image. Yeah– that shell scripting thing…. That’s geeky.

Did anybody watch Showtime’s The L Word, or as JT calls it, Lesbian Sex and the City? Sorry.. just realized I was watching Xena on Oxygen, where the cameras love to linger up close on their faces as if they can hardly stand not to be kissing, we’ll call it, Hercules: The Lesbian Adventures, and I guess it got me to thinking about it. — How many different characters can they make look just like Xena, anyway? Doesn’t Lucy Lawless get tired of talking to herself?— I was about to point out that most shows I enjoy with strong, outgoing women tend to be lesbian shows… but I guess Sex and the City defies that. Although, I have to say… that show gets danged sappy, no matter how many times they express ick. Nah, I think i prefer girls kicking ass with swords.

You know, if there aren’t any guys on TV kicking ass with swords.

Perhaps it’s just the swords I like. (That’s swords not s-words, smartasses.)

Perhaps I want to hop in my car right now, go to Best Buy, and buy the entire anime series Hellsing because I’m dying to watch it now that I’ve been seeing previews for Van Helsing. Been watching too many mainstream movies. Need some ass-kicking movies.

Perhaps…I just like to babble.
