Upgrade to first class, $150. I’m on the phone with JT (who’s on the phone in a boat in the middle of some swampy-lake) when they announce the price. He tells me to go for it. I’m sure I heard it wrong, but I go check. Yes, $150. It’s nearly a five hour flight, and I think…. what the hell.
So, I get the rear recliner seat, by the window, free headphones, hot towel, they just keep on refilling that wine glass until you shoo them away, and boy does that wine go well with the chicken and portabello mushroom ravioli served over spinach, and I got to watch Big Fish again in relative comfort.
As it turns out (despite what the boss thought) there was a free shuttle from the airport to the hotel, so no taxi for me. Now I’m enjoying this complimentary internet connection in front of a big tv showing Adult Swim even though the clock here only says 8:30. 12 hours until I’m picked up to go to work and the unknown reason for this trip. I thought I’d get here and be exhausted, but instead I’m feeling good and pampered.
I could get used to this first class thing.

*ponders* I wonder how much it would be to fly first class all the way to Sweden. I mean, 13 hours might be worth it!
Can’t wait to hear more about your trip. I hope you take many silly photos to go along with the story. 🙂
