living out a long-standing dream….

What a great weekend! Weather held out beautifully, making the drive up and the visit to Chattanooga excellent. Spent two lovely nights at the Chattanooga Choo Choo, enjoying the room, the pool, the view… managed to find a prime locale to watch the fireworks after the Lookouts game, as well as have a fun evening of setting off our own for an audience of the grandparents and their neighbors. Ate too much, drank too much… the whole weekend, boiled shrimp for 3 days, evil german chocolate “upside-down” cake, hot-dogs, burgers, and watermelon. Even managed to have a nice touristy-day yesterday by visiting the Tennessee Aquarium and the IMAX. Stayed up there late yesterday just sitting around in the cool breeze on the grandparents back porch, watching the little rabbit sneak up to eat the apples left out for him and the hummingbird stop by the feeder. It was all just so relaxing and wonderful. Like JT says, we’re at one-year going on five together. I asked him if it felt like we’d been married a year. He said he didn’t know. I told him that to me it felt like 15. =) We hit backed up traffic on the way home that gave us an extra hour or so to chat on the way home, which was interesting, but put us home at well after midnight and both tired as hell. But… as our phone that seems to be ringing off the hook today would indicate, it’s back to the grindstone… end holiday. Just glad it was enjoyable while it lasted.
