Random babble…

Too funny!

Good to hear from mom on the phone that she is thrilled with the work we did on her house. She has excitedly been keeping it up, finishing up the trim painting we didn’t get to, and patching a couple holes in the ceiling from where we put up her new light fixture. She loves the new light, she says. I’m pleased, since I spent over an hour at the top of a step ladder struggling with it, and I’m pretty sure that struggle is what aggravated my wrist to be hurting so badly these past couple days.

She’s already asking me when I’m coming back up to do more… this weekend?!? I dunno. Perhaps. That’d be like… tomorrow, right? Ugh. We’re just thinking it would be nice to have it mostly done prior to the family showing up to stay with her for our family reunion in mid-September. This weekend might be best… since I now found out the motorcycle race is the following weekend and not this one, like I’d thought. I dunno, it seems some people are trying to drag me to a movie tomorrow or something, too. And.. would James want to go with me to mom’s? That’d mean we leave Saturday instead, and I’m sure a weekend of work at mom’s is low on the “how to relax after a shitty week at work” list for him. He’s got to figure out how to deal with getting new tires for his car anyway.

Oh well. I’m also pleased to report that although she didn’t love the movie she rented, mom had no problem with using her new DVD player, and has already gone out to rent something else. Now I’ll just have to get her hooked on Netflix and then I can really say, Go Mom! Next thing we know I’ll have her eating sushi. =)
