Steve, I’m back from Lesbos…

It’s been a quiet week so far. Mostly for the past day or so I have been debating whether to go to a medical center to see if I’ve fractured something in my foot — a little incident of holding the car door open with a foot in the door-jam, which is usually a fine idea, but on this occasion ended up with a bit of a crunch across my toes. Nothing is swollen, everything moves, but there are certain ways I hold my foot that cause quite a bit of discomfort, my big toe seems to be slightly twisted, and by the end of the day of walking/standing, it is throbbing when I lie down.
But, since I couldn’t manage to log in to my healthcare site yesterday to look for a med center — I figured the regular doctor would just send me out for x-rays — I didn’t go anyplace, and decided to just stay off of it as best I can for a couple days and see how that works.
So, in lieu of… well, doing anything… I have been sitting at the computer finally figuring out how to create dvd menus and burn my own dvds, which leads to more sitting in front of the tv to watch them. So far, 13 episodes of Hellsing, Season 4 of Coupling, and Ghost in the Shell 2. Happy to be putting the dvd burner to use for actual dvd’s, but I’m already wishing I had something more advanced than Nero to use for menu creation.
Today, though, if I can manage it, I should really really put away some laundry in the bedroom. It’s sitting in baskets everywhere, and the place is so piled up there is barely a path to walk through — as JamesT found out last night, when he put a foot down on the backscratcher and then kicked the exercise bike, giving himself a nice injured pinky-toe today. I would have been happy with some sympathy pains, but he had to go for it and try to fracture something of his own.

Sadly, there’s not much medical science can do for a busted toe, other than say, “Yep, it’s broken. That’ll be $200.”
Hope ya feel better.
