So, it’s Wednesday?

I’m alive, and reasonably okay. Still on the antibiotics, which have the wonderful effect of making everything taste bland, make me feel weak and sore, and let’s throw in some nice nausea and tossing and turning in there. Of course, this rocks all over the pain meds that took me about a day to let wear off. Life between the shot Friday night and the evening I spent swearing the inside of my head was bruised was a blur. Apparently, sometime in there I agreed to sign up to play Dark Age of Camelot, so yesterday we bought two Platinum copies and installed them last night just in time for all the talking and explanation to happen over the new Gilmore Girls, which kept getting turned down because I had it up too loud for them to talk to me over. Damned inconvenient, that.

As it turns out, it wasn’t actually, technically “dry socket”, says the dentist, but the infection was pretty much the same. That wisdom tooth was so crowded it had grown sort of into the back of my mouth, and upon removal, left a nice open slit in my jaw, which actually got infected. On the bright side, I didn’t have to get packed with gauze, but I do have to clean that wound out every time I eat or drink, lest it doesn’t heal up again and I decide to stop swallowing forever — not a bad diet plan, perhaps, if we could lose the pain part.

Let me just say for the record that Dark Age of Camelot seems to be a pretty uninspiring game. I’m a half-giant, green-haired bard type-thing who knows songs that they don’t have an instrument to play them on, with zero in-game explanation for anything, and when it came time to “spend some skill points” I was yelled at that I needed to log out and find some website that lets your plan what you want your character to be at level 50, then work backwards from there. Sounds nice, friendly, and intuitive, doesn’t it? Yes, thought so.

Ugh, so everything I planned to get caught up on over the two days James was working after Thanksgiving got shot all to hell. I think I was sleep-walking through Monday, up until I saw the Dentist at about 5:15, he cleaned out my wound and packed it with a little peroxide cotton-ball, then told me to “Eat normally, it’ll just wash out…” and James took me to Chili’s. Thankfully a tall chocolate shake vs. bland taste buds and a peroxide-ball did okay, and I think I started to wake up sometime around then.

Today, I know, I have mucho work, piles of dishes, starving cats, no food to cook for dinner, bills to pay for the first and…. blech… a shower to take, ASAP.

When I had my wisdom teeth cleaved out of my head he gave me some antibiotics and a prescription for the nausea the antibiotics caused. I’m surprised he didn’t give you something.

When I first tried to take one of the anti-nausea pills, I was started because they were HUGE. It didn’t take me long to realize that they were suppositories. Needless to say, I just dealt with the nausea.

well, nope, he never gave me anything. I was suprised he never knocked me out to pull them. Did the top two at once, then a month later one bottom one, then a month later the other bottom one. No antibiotics and no problems until now. All he gave me before was pain killers, which I only took ONE of because they caused massive-knock-you-on-your-ass-nausea … those were the ones which actually said on the directions “Take pill and lie down.” They should have said “Lie down and don’t move, while praying silently you’ll never have to move again.”

1st off, you need to post more.

2nd, what in heckfire are you doing with DAoC?! You will have to get WoW (World of Warcraft) soon! (And if you actually do that, play with meeeeeeeeee.) 🙂

For some reason I’m not getting email notices of comments anymore…. sorry this is weeks later…

So yeah, we wanted to do WoW but have heard it’s pretty buggy. JamesT is on a Unix box, so he generally has to wait for a pc game to be out a while before there is any stable version he can run, and since he and a couple other buds had all played DAoC before (and since there is apparently some big expansion coming out.. tomorrow?) “WE” decided to play that for a while to “get back in the mood” for MMORPGS ….

So, yeah.. I ache from sitting and barely moving all weekend, and I went out today to invest in a new desk chair because the old was was causing me massive back pain which I’d never seemed to notice from say… working… before. Weird.

Werd, though. Let me know what you think of WoW, and we’ll probably check it out come Jan or Feb or so.

I will be playing the EU final beta as soon as they open it up for the people who pre-ordered the EU version. I heard the US servers are pretty unreliable right now, too. I’ll let you know what I think during & after the beta… Probably won’t start playing the in-store version until the EU one comes out so I can play with my boyfriend. It will probably be in Feb. 🙂
