Superbowl XXXIX
So I call my mother today….
You all set to watch the Superbowl tonight? she asks.
I reply in the affirmative, detailing for her all the food and snacks we have, go over the recipe for the chocolate fondue we’re going to make, but leave out the fresh bottle of tequila and other non-Sunday-purchase beverages we are stocked up on.
After asking if it would be possible for me to mail her some fondue, she asks who I want to win.
I reply, Mom, I’m not even sure who’s playing. I generally only pay attention to the commercials.
She sighs and says, Don’t you ever watch television? Then she proceeds to detail the last few Sunday’s of games she’s watched, tell me how close the Falcons got, and about the hotel crisis in Jacksonville that the game is causing.
My mother, the closet football fan. Who knew.
Anyway… we will have at least one TV tuned to the game when it kicks off at… 6:30, I think. I’ll probably start mixing margaritas and firing up the grill for hot dogs sometime between 6-6:30, with a break later for the creation of the fondue. Right now it’s just JT and me, Bradley and Maggie (and Maggie’s fondue pot). Anyone we know who might be around the vicinity of the Loveshack at 6-ish should feel free to stop by to eat and join us. After the game there will definitely be viewing of the American Dad pilot.
There will be drinking. There may be games. Heck, there may be drinking games. Call or just come by…
