How to tie a Windsor Knot
1. With the wide end of the tie on your right drop it 12 inches below the narrow end.
2.& 3. Cross the wide end over the narrow end and bring it up through the loop.
4. Now cross wide end under the narrow and bring it down through loop.
5. & 6. Then put the wide end down through the loop and around across the narrow end as shown.
7. Turn and pass up through loop and …
8. Complete the knot by slipping the wide end down through the knot in front. Tighten and draw up snug to collar.
9. Your completed Windsor Knot.

hey, I use a half-windsor, fyi…
and had a nice diagram page hanging up for a while in my bathroom when I first started wearing a tie all the time.

or in our case…. ask JamesT to tie it for you. Apparently I can tie the knot, but leave it too short. Mr. T didn’t even need the diagram.

My friend will probably kill me for just posting this diagram… the thought that he would ever have to wear one all the time would cause him to go directly to Key West, give up computers and become a hobo, with or without the sarong.
