Dogville
Last night we finally sat down to watch Dogville, which JT got from Netflix like three months ago. Netflix decided to recommend Dogville to me the other day when I added What the bleep do we know!? to my queue, so I figured I might remind JT that we had it rented.
It was long (3-hours), it was unique in it’s look (shot entirely on an isolated darkened stage set, with minimal set pieces), the dialogue got a little long and preachy, but I have to say the performances were great. I liked it, overall, but it could have easily gone the other way if I hadn’t been really in the mood for it. Reviews I’ve read of it today claim that it did horrible in the US, but was widely acclaimed in Europe, due to it’s European interpretation of “American Life”.
Also, yesterday, we found out that a replacement bolt for my brakes isn’t going to be as easy to find as we’d thought. The temporary fix (too long bolt) is still holding well enough for me to run nearby errands, but I wouldn’t want to head out on any roadtrips any time soon. I guess we’ll check out a couple more places if we get time this week.
Right now, I’m actually sitting in on a new conference call that I’ve been required to attend. Thankfully, I have no real active participation in this one… I’m just supposed to listen in to keep up with “what’s hot” to have an idea of which customers are screaming the loudest to help me assign priorities. Another fun afternoon hour of fun every Monday.
Damn, I’m craving something with sun-dried tomatoes and artichokes. Sure would be nice if I could cook worth a damn. Must think of an appropriate restaurant to visit to satisfy this… Olive Garden? Yes… Chicken Castellina: Chicken, mushrooms, artichokes and pancetta sautĂ©ed in a smoked cheese and sun-dried tomato sauce, tossed with penne.
SOLD!

Hey, when are we going to the park again? Maybe do a little walk/jog? Then there is still the court to book. I have class tomorrow night.
