well…

here’s where I say how my mood has darkened simply from knowing that in a perfect world this was supposed to be a half-day, which would kick off a wonderful four-day mini-vacation weekend, where we went out of town for some fun. In the rest of the world, this should still be a three-day holiday weekend. In my world, however, I just emailed my sister to tell her we’re not getting time off or visiting because it will be a working weekend, because we have shit to finish that needs to be on this month.

So, I shoot off an email about how the customer, whose mockup has been done since Monday of last week, only gives us approval of the design at 4:40pm yesterday afternoon. This morning I find messages wanting us to have this site up for “Monday”, and Jodine can help because hasn’t Kim already built the framework of the site? Well, no, Kim hasn’t done that. She had time last week to do that, but she didn’t have approval to do it, and now she is busy with other things.

I throw in there about how another project we were doing for this customer has been sitting complete since 5/11 and we have yet to get approval to send the file to the printer. It is for a flyer that will advertise a program with a signup deadline of June 3rd, so I wanted to point out that if it doesn’t make it, it will be another case of them dragging their feet. I just got a reply from their account manager, however, who said that they just printed out the last low-res version I sent them and have been passing it out for weeks. SO, I have to think, WHAT was the point of sending me a packet of specs for the printer, causing me to have to download a $140 stock photo in print quality, and having me talk live to the printer to make sure I could save the file in a format they could use IF they were going to be content with printing a crappy low-res jpg that I wouldn’t have even deemed web quality?

*breathing now* Okay. Enough ranting. I have shit to do and must focus.

In good news… got the shipping notice on my futon cover and bolsters, which makes me very happy. Also, I have to add that if I simply get time this weekend to enjoy our new furniture in our living room space, that will also make me happy.

Update: I just got an email from the boss thanking me for not holding back with my opinions. Shyeah.
