Computer says *CRASH*
My PC is pissing me off. Rebooting is fun. Who put the sand in your vagina, little computer? Grrrrr. At least it’s not the work computer.
Apparently the “New Owners” of our apartments, now called Broadstone at Dunwoody, are gearing up for an appraisal. I witnessed two chicks, way over dressed in their stockings and heels, driving around in the golf cart picking up trash, closing utility doors that were ajar, and generally stomping around in the landscaping like weirdos today. The landscapers are also out in force, and even though there are no leaves, they are relocating all the pollen and generally making the parking lot look gray again instead of yellow. I had just put a plant out front for some sun when the ladies were going by. They waved and told me they liked our plant. Garsh.
Our Supergirl Customer-Service person/trainer/Beyonce-look-alike Pam is still in the hospital on shaky ground. I’m sure she’s pleased as punch to get all these phone calls and flowers from co-workers telling her not to worry about work. Thus, on top of covering for vacationers this week, I’m also covering for Pam. Already today I’ve gotten an email and a phone call warning me about the “massive pileup” of emails in the support mailbox. Mary, who is taking the day shift today, tells me that something must be wrong with it because for hours we get nothing, then all at once, bam.. 100+ emails all at once. She said yesterday it was a full-time job in itself…. which seems funny to me, since they are paying someone to do that for their full-time job so what did we expect when we started to divide up their shift among us who already have jobs.
I just hope I manage to watch tonight’s new Gilmore Girls, House, and Bullshit! eps while I’m covering emails until 10pm.
Oh well, best get back to working the day job while I can.

Your apartment complex seems to go through owners/management a lot. This is like the second in two years, methinks? I looked at that complex and seriously considered moving there at one point, but after management changed, so did the rates. No thanks.
New GG tonight? *does happy dance* It’s been awhile.

We’ve been here… 5 years? They changed management within 2 months of us moving in. Then we went through a year where it changed about every other month, no shit. And then once last year, and now once this year. It’s been like 9 or 10 different management companies since we’ve been here… some distinctly better than others. The ones that lower the rent, unfortunately, are the ones that also let the gym get trashed, never fix the trash compacters, and let the pools sit full of water year round… ewww.

I think I would’ve moved out…not very stable, it seems. Then again, my apartment complex also went through a management change last summer–I’m hoping it’ll be the last one while I’m still renting. I’m hoping to go from this apartment to a house.

Well, we keep locking into the uber-low (or lowest rate) for 14-month leases, so we generally can’t be touched as management changes too often. And, we love the 3-story townhouse-like place here, the grounds, the pools, the tennis-courts, and the nearness to 285. And, well, we just hate packing up all our shit. The next move will be to a house… whenever the finance fairies deem it possible.

I really hope the finance fairies cooperate with me and let me move out on my schedule and not on theirs. 😛
