My 2nd stupidest driving experience ever…

Once, in the previous car, a lady in a parking space at Wendy’s, struggling to wrangle two noisy children into the car and be gone, decided to simply back out of her space and right into my headlight, where I was waiting in the drive-thru line. Car behind me, car in front of me, nothing to do but honk my horn and wait for the crunch…. That’s still the winner.

Today, sitting at the redlight to exit the plaza where I had just dropped Mr. TheMad to pick up his car, an oversized dark-glasses wearing, gray-haired menace to society driving a prehistoric white land-yacht, apparently decided to change to reverse when the light turned green…. wasn’t sitting in reverse, ie. no backup lights on UNTIL the light changed, then they came on. So, backup lights, he starts out in reverse, I lay on the horn, he backs into me, he glances backward, but I swear still didn’t seem to see me, then puts it in drive. His wheel is pointed funny and he nearly takes the side out of a van who is pulling into the plaza, but manages to straighten up and get through the red light. Leaving me open-mouth stunned that some dude just backed into me then drove away.

Seriously… I don’t think he ever really saw me. Damn little black stealth vehicle. Maybe that’s why people pull out in front of me all the time. Just yesterday coming back from the store, I was passing one of the mail centers and I have to stop to avoid a guy who is pulling out of his parking space at the curb and completely doesn’t see me right there on his ass.

Luckily, yesterday was avoided and today it was just a touch. My front end is already so scuffed that you can’t tell any new damage unless it gets serious. Still… Bastard!
