On the hump

Posted in Crazy Wisdom on Wednesday, May 17, 2006 at 2:02 pm by flerly.

Weird dreams all night…. yet, woke up wide awake this morning well before JT’s alarm. Actually don’t feel tired today. Have been struggling with several checklists in my head… 1) What clothes make the packing-for-Mexico cut, 2) Work items that need to be done before I can leave town, 3) Things to be done in the house before we can leave town.

Really there’s just today, tomorrow night and Friday to finish things. Tonight is my night-shift rotation to be “the automation”… Tomorrow is our company outing, for which has been kind enough to agree to be my plus one since JT and most normal people have to work during the day. Afterwards I have GOT to get back to this pile of work. I’m got a pile of things done, I’m just really nervous to upload because it’s changes to things I’ve never done before and it’s for our biggest customer on their live sites. IF I screw anything up… egad. Don’t think about it. IF I do it… it’ll stay that way until next Thursday I guess. =\

Okay… another day of McD’s for lunch. (I’m hooked on those Asian salads!) Need to get some kind of workout in today, if only to get the blood pumping and brain working. Need to focus. Must have toto concentwaishun to finish.

2 1/2 days to Mexico. 2 1/2 days to Mexico. 2 1/2 days to Mexico.

Cool. What are you guys doing for your outing this time. Last time sounded like a ton of fun. Let me know if any of the old Comstock people do anything dumb, or rather I should say “when”. Hahhaha. We were one dumb bunch.

    I mean… Braves Game!

I could care less about baseball, and honestly I tried to get out of it because I have so much work to do before the vacation, but they decided for me and ordered me two tickets. I was also told: We never see you, so you HAVE to be there.

Poor JT, who might enjoy it, couldn’t get the day off with already taking unexpected vacation days for Mexico. Well, at least it’s an excuse to make time to catch up with Stacy… maybe finally give her that Christmas present…

Good God I’m behind. In fact… I wonder if I still remember what anybody looks like. Hell, I haven’t even seen you in what, two months?

I’m happy about Mexico, but man… I’m looking forward to June and some “staying in town” time. Anything going on Memorial Day weekend? I have to work Sat & Sun until 1pm, but off those nights and Monday all day. We actually CAN’T leave town because we’ve volunteered to be JT’s little brother’s local emergency contacts for his nearby camping trip that weekend.

Greg is going to that game! He has great seats too. You guys should call him if you get bored, he has four tickets and no one to go with cause it’s in the middle of the day.

As for Mem. day. I plan on staying near the house, or more specifically, near the jazz festival in piedmont park. I am thinking some (light) beer or lemonade, fruit and a blanket out on the grass in the park doesn’t sound too bad, and if that gets dull then off to the pool to lay in the sun. Yup, should be an awesome weekend of nothingness. Let me know if you want to join in!

Oh, and I need to get some new work clothes at some point in there.
