Short-lunch & Short-Update

This weekend: Grindhouse, finally, which I really enjoyed, and then some hanging out for “cooking lessons” over with Ben & Maggie, where we were joined by Kit & Bert and treated to a huge sitdown meal, including the “fancy spoons”. Mucho fun all day, just wish I didn’t hit that suddenly tired wall that I do.
Besides the painful reminders of locations of muscles I didn’t know I had, I’m learning in BootCamp that I can survive very well on anywhere from 6-8 hours of sleep even if it comes in the grand total of a 4-hour night sleep plus a couple of 1-hour naps. Not a bad thing, I guess. I’ve made it a habit now of taking a nap after my morning routine on days when I don’t have to leave for appointments. On days when I do, I usually crash for a bit just when I get home. I can crash out at 9pm for an hour or two, be up for a bit longer, then go back to bed by 1 and still somehow drag-ass up when the alarm goes off. This cold, though, is pissing me off. Worse still is the chill air coupled with these fabulous gusts of wind that cut right through you.
Anywho, in the update world Dennis should be home safely from Iraq as of this past weekend, which is wonderful. We can’t wait to visit with him and the frewtnut niece at the end of this month in Vegas! And, well, we can’t wait for Vegas period. =)
Somewhere in this busy month of morning classes, daily appointments, and weekend travel I have to fit in both a dentist appointment and a doctor’s appointment, but I’m sure it will all work out.
I remember snickering at the email from James’ mom not too long ago that their recently adopted hound dog was pregnant. She’s taking this whole funny situation very well. This morning though, her email completely cracked me up:
We spent the day yesterday (from 10:30 a.m. until 10:30 p.m.) delivering puppies. Yes, it was a very long day. Susie Q had not one, not two, not three, nor four, or five, but six sets of TWINS! Yes folks, that’s right we have TWELVE, count them, TWELVE babies!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Send food!
I’m sure we’ll soon have to schedule a visit up to the hound-dog nursery to see the little ones. Anyone need a puppy? Fairly sure they had more than they were expecting.
Okay… more work to do and, if I can brave the wind, a few errands. Off we go.
