Tool

Apparently the best medicine for recovering from hip problems is 2 1/2 hours in a car, 2 hours standing, and 2 1/2 more hours in a car. Yeouch.
So, we saw Tool last night in Greenville with Marc & Jennie, and I have to say, it wasn’t our most brilliant plan. JamesT, a big fan, will tell a different story, but me, I can only say…. Ibuprofen was not the proper drug to be on to enjoy that concert.
The stage show was great, and the songs they played that I recognized sounded like the songs I recognized and not crappy half-assed versions of them. All together, they played two trippy-jam-session hours (with a total of 9 songs? 10?) including what seemed like 20 minutes of feedback and laser-lightshow disguising a break where the bandmembers left the stage and the crowd was so confused by the light and noise most of them didn’t notice and stayed standing and cheering. Thank goodness for the presence of the earplugs I meant to take to Godsmack still being in my purse.
PS: Who wants to give me $25K just for fun? Oh nevermind. Apparently the 300 are all pre-sold.
