to do
I have so much work to do right now. So busy. I keep hitting hurdles and getting sidetracked. Nothing I try to do is turning out to be as easy as it should, and as such, I’m falling behind and getting really frustrated about it.
Random computer issues lately haven’t helped. Yes, mister computer, I’m fairly certain I do have Microsoft Word installed, since I was just using it this morning. Why this afternoon won’t you open a word document? Whoops! Your mouse doesn’t work anymore! Okay, now it does. Okay, now it doesn’t. — Can’t even take my anger out with frustrating messages to anybody because on the other computer, the keyboard isn’t working. See, that one has a new TV Tuner, which has been causing all sorts of fun problems with other USB devices. It’s supposed to only work on Win XP machines, but of my 3 computers, 2 run XP and it won’t work on either of those. It does work on the Win2K machine, but only — experimentation has discovered — if you unplug it and plug it back in after every reboot.
Well, that was rambly. In essence, all I wanted to do here was finally express how freaking angry I have been today. I have screamed and screamed and screamed to the empty house today, though thankfully I continue to refrain from breaking stuff since we’re in our house now versus a rental space. I will eventually give in and fracture something in my hand if I don’t quit smacking my desktop. What’s worse… after a day of work & computer stress, I get to spend the evening silently stewing in front of a DVR that manages to screw up recording the season finale of The Closer and tonight’s Saving Grace. Part of me says as always, it’s just television, but another part is just tired of things not working as they’re supposed to.
On the very bright side, I finally got to talk to the frewtnut niece tonight after much too long. Just hearing her voice made me feel about a zillion times better.

Oh, honey, don’t fret so! No need to hurt your hand. If your TiVo isn’t working, however, we must talk. You must call your satellite or cable company and DEMAND a new one immediately. And you must DEMAND that they re-play or somehow install Saving Grace on your new machine!!! That is a MUST. He-he. No, seriously. I have it. I can give you a play-by-play. Or maybe I could record it and mail it to you? It’s NOT “just television!” No, it is, no, it isn’t. AAAAHHHH! I’m freaking out, and it’s only 7:54!!! You’ve given me a break-down early in the morning. What am I to do now? (hee-hee!!) 😉 I’m glad you enjoyed talking to the frewtnut. Anyway, hope this little ramble will make your day. I’m being silly. I got almost no sleep last night, I’ll post why later today. Not sure I can talk about it yet. I’ll have to gather my thoughts first. I didn’t understand it last night, until it dawned on me what today is, but it’s not really only the reason you are thinking. J 🙂

Lucky for me, both shows are on TNT. I already got to watch the end of the Closer when they reran it at midnight. Saving Grace will rerun this Thursday night. And, you know, there is always OnDemand. I really let stupid things get to me, I realize… brought home by the new quirkiness of typing on this keyboard which I must have smacked in frustration yesterday, since it has developed a sticking spacebar and several keys make a weird noise now.

You make me laugh! That’s a good thing today, trust me. Ever think about a wireless?
