little update
1)
In this case, though, I’m okay with him having the last word. I didn’t expect any reply to what I felt was my breaking down and finally sending a “petty” message, or possibly something petty in response. Instead I got something I truly wasn’t looking for: He says I’m right. He printed out all my emails and let her read them. He told me he is not giving up on getting this all worked out.
So, wow. In light of that, I’m not writing back, I’m not causing any potential trouble. I will wait patiently, if not hopefully, for his next move, and I will hopefully manage to remain interesting enough to stay in contact with his daughter as much as she wants.
Despite my not really expecting anything to come from this, I’m just thrilled that he did this small thing to stand up for himself. *small squee*
ANYWAY
2) *BIG SQUEE* for me, because I got my birthday present over a month early on Saturday: I have a bicycle! Yippee! Yippee! I love it, and it’s already been “tricked out” with some hibiscus stickers just to make it “mine”. =) Last night we finally got around to adding the seat post rack, and it may not work out. I’m just not quite tall enough to ride it with the seat an inch higher due to the rack. I’m going to try it out a bit, but I’m pretty unsteady getting on it now. Still… *squee*… and it looks like with
3) And lastly, hopefully this weekend’s Spycraft game was enjoyed by all. It’s always a little rough starting the first game in a new system, but it seemed to go pretty smoothly. I was making some incredibly favorable rolls for my players last night, which was just causing me to laugh — though I didn’t want to really let on at the time about how the installation they were so cautiously entering was apparently staffed by blind idiots and the missing people they were looking for were practically marked with neon signs and name tags because I wanted them to get the feel of how their skills and characters should function. Still though, my rolls were meaning they could practically do no wrong. Of course, this means in the remainder of this mission, they’ll probably be dodging all sorts of freak stuff when the fortune of the dice turns on them. Oh well… that’s how the game is played. Hope you all had fun.
Now I’m on a mission to find a more reliable FTP client because I’ve been unable to get into a couple of web sites over the past several days, and I’m starting to blame a buggy Dreamweaver client rather than the servers.
FOIM!
Note: I need a happy bicycle icon!
EDIT: OH! And I forgot. Sounds like this year, family Thanksgiving gets to be at OUR house! w00t!

Oh wow, I’m so glad your exchange with your brother had such a good outcome! Sounds like he actually read what you had to say and took it to heart.
My phrase of the month: “cautious optimism.”

Btw, before I comment on anything else, I got distracted my last post, and never asked about your mom, so how’s the foot? Bug bite, spider bite? What’s up with all of that? Hope she’s doing better.
I’m sooooooo glad your bro has seen the light! Good that he isn’t punishing you for what’s going on, and she will be doing better with contact with her family. Yippee for b-day presents, whether they are early or not! Also, glad your game went well. Sounds like your weekend was great. Glad to here. Sorry your online experience isn’t so good, that sucks! Good luck fixing that.
Talk to you soon. Let me know about your mom! J:)

Mom’s already much better. In fact, less than 24-hours after she started on the antibiotics from the doc she was already without pain and able to walk. I guess she just didn’t expect the problem to have been a bite. She thought she had just sort of twisted her ankle and that it would heal with some rest and staying off it. I didn’t realize you could get a bug bite and it cause something like that… I guess it all has to do with the placement, and I guess she had a bit of an allergic reaction to it.
Anywho, can’t wait to actually get to visit her this coming weekend and make fun of her hopping around the house for four days ASSUMING it would just go away.

LMAO! I guess that’s what you will do when you go there, too, huh? Glad to hear it’s nothing major. I know my sis got a spider bite that was wicked swollen and all sorts of sickening, so glad to hear it’s not a big deal! Yipee. 🙂
