May you have an interesting… weekend

An interesting weekend might have included being run off private property late at night by police with flashlights or being accosted by a bum we’d startled sleeping in the circle of bushes outside the Soup Kitchen, or perhaps being kicked out of a 24-hour Walmart for playing soccer, or perhaps being kicked out of cosmic bowling for frequent screaming and running at various people who were in the midst of swinging heavy bowling balls down the lane, or we could have simply been shot at for trying to visit family while the psycho-ex was there in the process of looting the place with her big burglar flashlightTM. Or, we could have just had a regular weekend where we shopped and ate too much, visited with family, went for a hike, then came straight home to find absolutely nothing wrong with the house due to a lengthy power outtage.

Actual weekend was certainly somewhere in between, and futhermore included a 4-hour stopover in Greenville on the way home to eat never-ending pasta, shop for new cars, and make sure the pink-haired girl was winning Bret Michaels affections properly. We have also now committed to a weeklong snowboarding trip in February with the Greenville cousins, after many years of their asking and us waffling. Goal for 2008 – no broken bones.

Now, if we can just keep that going for 2007, we’re golden. We may not be able to visit Bristol anymore and achieve that, though.

PS. Apparently crazy is a little contagious. (Read: On no normal day do JT and myself wander around abandoned private schools in the middle of the night nor do we get caught up watching M-TV reality shows, but family can make you do crazy things.)

Well, in actuallity, we spent the weekend in fear that most of those things were about to happen. We were just apparently very lucky that no security or law enforcement personnel had to be involved in the strange happenings of our family crazy.
