it is (past) time for a new car

Posted in Crazy Wisdom on Tuesday, October 2, 2007 at 10:34 am by flerly.

This new battery receipt is dated 8/28. The new battery that is currently disconnected from my car and attached to our battery charger, and thus not powering my car to get me to my Tuesday meeting.

Let’s see… final car payment made… August. Chronic battery/electrical system issues begin… August.

I do not want a car payment again, hell I’ll be lucky to afford one again.

Damnit, though. I need a car.

Why do you need a car? JamesT has a bike, and you have a 2nd car, right?

We had this very discussion this morning… this is where I admit I can’t drive a manual.

Time to learn! (it really isn’t that hard)

We’ve had that discussion, too. I HAVE driven a manual in a pinch, it wasn’t pretty, but I got better with practice — I’ve had take his old car in to work in nearly this scenario before — but his current car is a total bitch to drive, and he admits it. It’s not apparently suitable for beginners, and in it’s current state of about to need a clutch already, he is a bit gunshy for me to take it.

We both need cars, and we need to trade for things we can both drive. That’s what we already decided this weekend, and then wham.. it’s like my car overheard and died of depression.

Here’s the MSF course website. Zoltan just retook it with Tara.(she passed with flying colors)

Time to learn a manual transmission, time to learn to ride. Very exciting!
