Brief recap

Posted in Crazy Wisdom on Monday, October 29, 2007 at 7:37 pm by flerly.

I’m glad I took some time to post from the beach, as all those peaceful feelings sure do slip away quickly when you get home. Many thanks to the many well-wishers for my birthday! The actual day was rather uneventful as anticipated… cleaning, packing, car ride home. Came home to find I had the house to myself while the boys were out shooting guns, which was fine as I desperately needed a shower to wash the “dog” off of me so Kitty would be my friend again. Also got to catch up on a bit of recorded TV, then JT took me out to a dinner that consisted of something other than seafood. Best surprise of all, though, was the news that we were going to be geeky and wait in line at the Buckhead Best Buy for the midnight release of Guitar Hero 3. =)

So, can’t say that I ever thought I’d be standing in line all excited about a video game for my 36th birthday, but there I was. Excited! We went straight home and played hard Co-Op career all the way to the “Inferno” venue before we gave up. Next day, I played the hard solo career up to the same level. The battles are kind of lame, but there is some interesting music on there. I’m a little wary of trying an expert song, seeing as how these last few hards are seriously hard, but I’m almost done. Could have made myself finish it all last night, but had mercy on my husband who was just a bit sick of watching me play all day long.

I was just looking to get as much in for this vacation as possible, mostly because of today’s doctor visit being a huge vacation buzz-kill. And, it was totally. Unhappy day, but I knew it would be. Makes me wonder why I have always scheduled these things around my birthday every year. Happy Birthday, you old falling-apart shit. And for your reward of being so diligent in your yearly visits, this year have a new prescription then come back in a week for a follow-up, welcome to the age of mandatory mammograms (happy 36th!), and please allow me to play with your hormones for a couple months just for shits and giggles.

JT was good, though. I was a lump when he came home, but he “made” me go for a much needed bike ride. And it was good. Tomorrow will be the Smashing Pumpkins concert, which will also be good… or rather fabulous since it’s at the Fox. For Halloween, though, JT will probably be gone to spend at least the day in Chattanooga with his grandfather while he has surgery. It’s just one of those bad timing things again, as I wish more than anything that I could be there, too, but I just can’t take the time this week because of all the backlog from me taking last week.

I have been lax in returning phone calls and emails from friends and family since I got back, as I’m just so blah right now. Consciously disconnected, I guess. Meetings tomorrow, then the concert, but maybe I’ll have time on Wednesday to sit down and be a good person again.

Kit/Mag: If any of those vacation pics were any good, I’d love for you to share them someplace.

*points to icon* Of course you knew it would be that way coming home, right? tee-hee! I’m sorry to hear you had dr. visits that would be PITA’s when you got back–yuck! But, glad to hear JT’s taking good care of you after. Sounds like you are somewhat obsessed, perhaps? *clears throat* Just a thought… *giggle*

Sounds like the concert will be awesome!! Wish I was going…

I’m so sorry you can’t be there with his grandfather…that sucks…Hope he does very well, I’ll be thinking of you all…You are a good person–stop thinking like that! You’re busy, you had to take care of yourself for a while, so people understand that! 😀

I’ve been a total Guitar Hero III junkie since Sunday afternoon.

Last night I beat the Devil on easy. Now I have to work my way up to medium.

I should be studying torts and contracts and writing my slip-and-fall memo. But battling Slash just seems like more fun than law. At least for the moment.
