The Prep Work
Normal people shouldn’t have to work their tails off just to get ready for company. What we thought would be a couple days of just cleaning and straightening turned into a couple big accomplishments — including repairing a bad gasket causing a leaky garbage disposal (not fun) and fixing the toilet downstairs so that bathroom can be used again. Plumbing, in case we had forgotten, sucks in all forms. I really don’t think there is an easy plumbing job.
Also, as much as I love my unusual dining table, unusual means there are no tablecloths to fit it that don’t have to be ordered special. So, in a fit of craftiness, I have made a tablecloth, and it isn’t too shabby.
Now, if we can just get Kitty used to her relocated food and water so she’ll stop knocking everything over all over the kitchen floor, we should be ready to rock and roll. Tonight, though, you know we’ll be standing in line for Rock Band instead of being productive. Good thing we cranked out the work this weekend.
Okay, babble off. Have a safe and happy Thanksgiving, people. Drive safe if you travel. And a big congrats to Rob & Dale on their engagement!

That is what we want, but we’ll see what they have to offer at midnight! James and I are already fighting over who’ll get to play drums, and we don’t even have the game.
If we can get another guitar, while the family is in town, I’d say there will be a lot of 4-player rocking out happening over at the Thorntons. Which reminds me, I need to make a liquor store run to make sure that happens! =)
