Bloomington

The Trip So Far:
– First time being the person pulled aside for a bag search at security.
– FOUR gate changes before the flight finally arrived.
– 3 inches of snow on the ground overnight. It’s 30 degrees and falling today, and more snow in the forecast for today.
– We are close enough to Chicago to get their radio stations, but too far away to have anything even remotely cool to see or do.
– The Eastland Suites offers a nice little room, thankfully in a WHOLE SEPARATE BUILDING from co-worker, and with the snow, it’s “too cold” for us to meet up for breakfast or anything else.
– Tomorrow, they don’t need me at all, so I get to spend the entire day in my hotel room working… without a car. There’s no hotel restaurant. Glad I brought food.
– Fed up, angry, tired, I shot boss an email yesterday explaining my desire to quit, and encouraging him to either give me a 10K raise or find somebody for me to train, ASAP. He hasn’t called or emailed back.
– Had Olive Garden again last night, same as Saturday with Sis, but THIS time, in Bloomington, Illinois, the server came up to offer us a sample of his “favorite sweet red wine, which he loves because it makes your teeth purple”… Reunite Lambrusco. We took the free sample, and it was just the wine cooler taste I remembered from college. Nasty shit that I thought sold for about $5 a bottle rather than $5 a glass. No way we were paying to drink that crap.
– Speaking of drinking… the other cool thing about Eastland Suites… FREE happy hour cocktails from 5:30-6:30, and they mix a fine margarita.

Oh well, I should figure out how many layers I need to venture out into this crap. I feel for you thunderstorm-having Atlantians, and hope the power didn’t knock out my work computer and turn off my skype phone message and mail autoresponder….
