I have 30 right now in my recently purchased souvenir coin album. Maggie & I found it at the Atlanta Zoo, so now I have a place to keep them. I don’t think I’ve ever seen a machine and walked passed it, as I have lots of memories of begging people for money to make these things. If I missed all these ones at places I’ve been, then I don’t think the machines were there yet, since I have several over the years from machines that the list says are now gone… like the Pearl Harbor memorial in Hawaii and even one from 6 flags Georgia that’s now gone.

I managed to get a ton from my visit to Hollywood at 19, I’ve got Dollywood and the Chattanooga Choo Choo and the Incline Railway from local trip, then I’ve done pretty well at finding at least one on our big trips lately – New York New York Casino, several from San Francisco, San Diego, even one from Bermuda and a couple from Charleston.

It’s the location of these machines that kills me though. I told James we HAVE to stop by the bus station next time we go through Birmingham on the way to my sis’ house — he’s like THE BUS STATION!?!? Yeah.

    I collect postcards 😉

It started with just me picking them up at the places I went, but it eventually expanded to others. I simply ask for folks to sign and date it, if they do manage to find me one (or, usually, REMEMBER to find me one).

Is there any particular rhyme or reason to the places you get pennies squished? or just “there’s a squishing machine, must go squish”?

If there’s no particular rhyme or reason, and you don’t mind them from places you haven’t actually been, I could put the word out to some pals in various parts of the nation to have them keep an eye out for penny squishers, and maybe get you some from places you may not have been…
