Back in ATL
Party week is a blur I need to sort out in my head. Sunday was a day of zombie in front of movies. Apparently I made the car ride home with ants in my pants — or so says the 50+ new bug bites on my left foot, ankle, calf, and 20+ on my right.
We overheated around Talledega at about midnight central time, so I had somewhat of an opportunity to search my floorboard and roll up my jeans to try to find the culprits while James jogged down to a gas station that didn’t suck to find antifreeze and duct tape to try to get us home. Never did find any little critter, and when he got the car running and told me to “head on home, keep moving, and don’t draft off anybody” I was just so happy to get moving again that I did just that. Heck, I was so sleepy, I think the stinging thing in my pant leg was helping keep me awake.
Then in an epic fail estimate of having enough gas to make it home, the needle seems to plunge from over the E to below the E in a flash, and my gas light comes on just as we exit from 20 onto 285. We are holding our breath expecting to be walking as we pass exit after exit with closed gas stations, until we spot a 24-hour Quick Trip about 4 exits from our Stone Mountain Highway exit.
Other than missing our own bed and Kitty, can’t say either of us is really happy to be home. It was so hard to make ourselves leave the family today. This week really spoiled us on how good it could be if we all lived closer together.

I had a blast…literally! Thank you guys for putting on one hell of a week.
I’ve got the photos up. The fireworks pics start at 145. I’ll bring by a disk tomorrow with high rez versions of all of them.
