As I said before, I’ve been using the Discovery:NBC website to track weight and exercise since Saturday. I’m down about 5 lbs today since my Saturday morning weigh in, though I know I haven’t given enough attention to working out yet. Still working up to working out, I guess.

I did, however, manage to trash my falling-apart elliptical machine and get a new and improved one. This one has a longer stride which feels more natural, and also has a cup holder and a book holder, which holds my portable DVD player nicely. It’s also a magnetic drive, like the recumbent bike, so it is QUIET. I picked a version recommended by the 10,000 steps people, so it has several programs to run or you can just set your resistance and just count your steps.

Work is overwhelming, so it’s all I can do to eat well and just keep moving these days. The boys took the DSL down for about 45 minutes tonight, in which time I managed to go to the grocery store and do 750 steps before having to sit back down and finish my work for the night.

Today I found out that our previous end of the month deadline has been bumped up to the 23rd, and thus I am pretty much chained to this chair at this desk days, evenings, and weekends until then if I have any hope of finishing. Thus, the grocery store run was to restock on my healthy snacks, so that I don’t go nuts and grab that leftover pizza in the fridge to chow on while I mindlessly sit here.
