Let me just recommend a great deal for the money. After much researching and nearly crying over how much money I was going to have to shell out for anything decent, I happened across this little gem:
The Image 8.0 Elliptical, is at this time available from Walmart for a meager $214.48. It requires 4-D batteries, not included, and it is a tough job to build for one-person, but all in all, a tremendous deal.
The main console area, with the book holder, sways from side to side while you’re using the machine, so I’m not sure how easy it would actually be to read while using it, but I have found that it is tolerable to use with my portable DVD player (sitting on a no-slide rubber mat and tied on for safety) and head phones.
Not only is the longer stride length quite natural, but the electronic resistance control makes for some tough hills on their pre-programmed workouts.
Anyway, spared 10 minutes to do 1000 steps, which I hope to make myself get up and do every hour today while work is so crazy, and in that time (and this time of deciding to share how happy I am with my purchase) I’ve gotten one phone call and 10 im’s from work. Best get back to it.
Keep moving.
