Walk and Jog intervals..
Firing up the WATP video at mom’s really got me in the mood to try them again. Not that they didn’t work for me, just that I was bored with those same 2 walking videos, hearing the same banter with the music so low you can barely hear it. With that in mind, I picked up a new walking video, Leslie Sansone’s Walk and Jog. It’s only a 35 minute workout, about 2 1/2 miles of walking, but it has four 2-minute jogging intervals that actually make them a pretty decent little workout.
So far, I’m doing well keeping up the daily food journal and overlapping 15-30 minutes of elliptical machine workouts with some video at least 5 days a week. I’ve got two of my four strength training videos in the rotation with one yoga workout. I still have two more strength videos and a cardio step workout that I haven’t worked up to, but I think I might continue to use this Walk and Jog video and maybe toss in some of the other old walking videos, too.
Ideally, I’d like to do an early morning video… yoga or walking, then a 20-minute strength routine at lunch, and save elliptical time for the evening. Along with the advice that eating more small meals throughout the day helps keep up the metabolism, I think spreading out the workouts over the day will help keep my energy levels up. A plan of 3 20-30 minute workouts a day for 5-days a week is right on with the weight-loss plan, so long as I keep the diet under control. Been so distracted by work and things today that all I’ve had to eat is chips and salsa, and unfortunately there is a tempting pizza on the way, I’m confident I can keep it under control.
Keep moving!
