Inspired by my sis, and a great discount asking me to come back, I’ve decided to start food tracking with the Weight Watchers plan again.

This weekend, managed to work out at home Sat & Sun, even with “people” around. Also picked up a mat to go under the elliptical to attempt to keep it from roaming around while I’m on it, but so far no luck. Now, the mat with it’s 1/2 inch padding seems to make the whole thing feel less stable… and it still moves. Happy with my investment in a dumbell rack, though. Still trying to keep weight training a priority.

Remember: Strength training is your secret weapon to increased metabolism. During cardiovascular exercise, you burn calories and fat and continue to burn calories for a period following your workout — known as afterburn. If you strength train consistently, you add muscle, which is metabolically active 365/24/7.

A pound of fat burns about two calories a day. A pound of muscle burns approximately 35-50 calories a day!
