Day Six – Stone Mtn
OMG — we both felt like we had no rest this weekend! Didn’t manage to sleep in with our plans both days, and stayed up later than usual. We were wiped out this morning, for sure.
Today was “Pyramids and Relays”… three groups, while group 1 makes a lap, groups 2 and 3 start on a pyramid of 5 exercises. First is 5 each of pushups, mountain climbers, burpees, squats and then squat jumps. By this time, group 1 should be back around to tag group 2, who starts a lap. Meanwhile, group 1 starts their pyramid at 5 each, and group 3 starts their pyramid of 10 each.. Group 2 finishes lap, tags group 3 and they run a lap, while groups 1 and 2 start their 10 each pyramid.
This went on, up by 5 for each pyramid, for each group to do 3 laps. If you were tagged before you finished your pyramid set, you just stopped there and took off running your lap.
After 3 laps, all groups did a 25 each pyramid set, then cooled down.
That all sounds matter of fact, but nobody was actually making it through the pyramid sets. Those burpees were killer, and most everybody just skipped them all together after maybe 3 or 4 tries.
It was the coldest day yet out there, and just breezy enough to be a lot of pollen around for gasping runners to take in by the mouthful. And this morning, after our shower and morning power nap, both of us were sore sore sore, especially the arms from all the pushups, mountain climbers and attempted burpees.
