Day Nine – Stone Mtn
Well, tomorrow is a fitness eval day, so today we took it a bit easier so people wouldn’t be worn out for that.
Normal warmup routine, then a short jog over to the pavilion to use their picnic tables for some dips, pushups, leg lifts etc. Then a longer jog around through the tunnel, over to a curb to do some weird little hops where you rotate which foot is on the curb. Then we did sort of squatted sideways walking back down to the tunnel, forward and backward lunges through the tunnel, then over to some stairs for some inner thigh work with leg swings, and some calf raises. Finally we ended up on the grass doing some glute work and then stretching.
He tried to take it easy on me, I think, and I certainly didn’t keep up with all the jogging. I went wrong first thing today with the jumping jacks in the warmup, actually. Though every bit of weight on my feet hurt, I ended up not nearly so pained as yesterday. He told me that IF I show up tomorrow, that I probably want to skip the mile timed run, to help my recovery. That and a weekend ought to help a lot, if I continue to ice them and compress.
