Bootcamp Month 2
Went to the evening instead of the morning class today, and thankfully it was quite cool. Still haven’t decided if I can actually hack going in the hot afternoons long term.
Today was “Centipedes and High Altitude” — which I guess was his way of saying “centipedes that can go up and down hills”. Essentially, we warmed up, then Shannon took off running and we followed him — non-stop. He wound around trees and back and forth across fields, around to the hills where we did suicides and up and down those, back around to the helipad parking lot, and so on and so forth. We ended up back at the pavilion, did a short cooldown, mostly to bring people’s heart rates down, then finished at 7pm on the dot. He said everyone did so well that there was no “encouragement” today, too.
It was tough, but I’m happily wearing my new shoes from Big Peach running that I picked up this afternoon.
If this had been a hot day, I’d still be laying on the side of the road someplace in the park…
