class 2 – Pilates Mat 1
Well, 2 for 2 these classes have been full no matter the time of day. Different instructor this time, and I liked her very much. She worked us out with the roller for a while, and used the ring a bit. Once again, I feel like the only person in there working up a sweat, and I’m not sure why. It’s not hot pilates, per se, so it’s not just a sweat box. She came by and corrected my pose at one point, getting me to lift my arms just a bit higher, then remarked “I can feel you shaking as you hold this pose, that’s EXCELLENT!” Afterwards she remarked again and again how good my postures were, and that it was good to move slowly and deliberately so you get it right and stay stable. I can only hope she was trying to justify my insane sweating to the class…
I have several options for a class tonight as well if I want to try out yoga. Bikram 75 at 4:30 or 7:30 or I could just go for the Hot Core Power at 6… Both say they welcome beginners, though the Core Power class is supposed to be “more intense”. The heated room is supposed to help ease your muscles for less soreness and deeper stretches, but every time I read that “100 degree room” description, I just can’t picture doing anything in that kind of heat.
This was actually my last planned class for this week — but there is a Hot Core Power class at noon tomorrow if I’m brave enough.
