Wednesday Afternoon Fun…

Posted in Crazy Wisdom on Wednesday, September 25, 2002 at 4:11 pm by flerly.

[Bored, and thinking he’s been hectic with all this server crap I send…]

Me: You having fun yet?

Him: it has been a fairly normal day for me, it’s [our network admin] james who’s got it bad.

ps: don’t forget ‘nag, nag’

[I’m supposed to nag him daily as a reminder to write a permissions script to fix my OTHER big job annoyance.. I explain my day, coffee, rental car, etc etc]

Me: and oh.. nag nag nag, whoa is me, if only i had that permissions script then when I go to use siteconfg today it wouldn’t be the last straw that finally caused me to snap and kill all my coworkers…

Him: me first! me first! kill me! kill me!

Me: HECK no, because you’re the only one who can talk me down from my killing spree with the promise of you writing that script for me. If I kill you first, everyone would be screw-woo’d.

Him: invalid response: If you want the permissions file script to be written, you must oblige me (even if it means that you must lie). Therefore, when I say “me first”, then the appropriate response would be something to the effect of, “yes, of course”. As for the coffee incident, mmmmm, blessing the various items with holy water, day must’nt be too bad.

Me: Fine fine. Consider me girl with gun and you in my sights. Prepare to meet your maker.. or better yet… There’s a passage I got memorized, seems appropriate for this situation: Ezekiel 25:17. “The path of the righteous man is beset on all sides by the inequities of the selfish and the tyranny of evil men. Blessed is he who, in the name of charity and good will, shepherds the weak through the valley of darkness, for he is truly his brother’s keeper and the finder of lost children. And I will strike down upon thee with great vengeance and furious anger those who attempt to poison and destroy my brothers. And you will know my name is the Lord when I lay my vengeance upon you.”
