RUSH fact 05:
Alex once ate more than
nineteen
thousand dollars

worth of cheese in a
single afternoon.

So, yeah.. we saw Rush last night. I’m the last person to sit down and write a concert review for you, but suffice it to say it was hands down the best concert I’ve ever seen. It takes a band like Rush with 30 years of hits to be able to play a 3 1/2 hour show and keep the crowd on its feet. The light show was fabulous, our seats were great, they sounded excellent, so clear, and the great songs just kept coming.

So this morning, quick trip to the doc for the quarterly shot and all… paying, as I leave, the girl notices the shirt I am wearing. It’s a baby-doll tee, black, with RUSH in big pink letters, surrounded by silver and rhinestones. This exchange ensues:

That’s a really cute shirt!
Thanks, I picked it up at their concert last night.
Oh yeah? Who’s concert?
*pause* *blink* *blink* .. Rush
Never heard of them.
Really? They’re like 30 years old..
Nope, what kind of music are they?
I guess you could say they were a 70s supergroup who is still around.
Oh well. Guess I missed them. Cute shirt though.

Anyway.. well, it was a crazy late night. Marc is hoarse today and can barely talk Kimmmmmmm!!!!!! RRRRuuuuuuuussshhhhh!!!! YYYYYeeeeaaaahhhhhh!!!! every time I passed him in the crowd prolly didn’t help. Man was he trashed. Stupid-grin happy trashed.

Afterwards we went to Wa-Ho, then home to… in my case, wash off the beer that people behind me had poured down my back, then watch the end of the Sunday Trading Spaces marathon, since I just wasn’t feeling the adult swim reruns. Dunno when everyone went home, but they were gone when I got up to check it out at about 5:30am. Saw Bruce’s phone and thought maybe the men folk were still downstairs enjoying the fact that none of the four of them had to be at work in the morning, but then JamesT came upstairs solo headed for bed, and I realized it was just him. So, I went back to bed and tried to sleep, but that fscking clock just taunts me until the alarm finally goes off.

You know, though, despite the lack of sleep, I was in a really great mood today until I got here.. to work…

Like I told Bruce yesterday when he asked “What would you rather be doing than your job?”… I said, “Sometimes I think shovelling shit at the zoo would be more rewarding.”
