I think I’m possessed….. by an unfortunately weak-willed little spirit.

Just got off an hour-long phone call with mom… which is the norm, hour-long. Told her if she didn’t quit saying “you’re REALLY coming up?” to me that I wasn’t going to come up, and that if at any time after I got there she said to me “i can’t believe you REALLY came up!” that I was going to hop in the car and go home. Time to retrain the mom. That particular habit’s on my last nerve. I mean.. seriously. I PLANNED this whole weekend to go up and visit her.. including calling my sister to come up and meet me there.

Anyway… I’m possessed. I have the desire to drive in to work and rearrange my office space and sit down in the peace and quiet of a Saturday at the office and tear through this huge pile of reworks. I’m so behind… yes, because I’m lacking in help, but it’s causing me stress. If i just sit down, bite the bullet, and put in a good full day of uninterrupted work, I could probably not only catch up, but actually get ahead. THAT is what needs to happen.

I’m also moderately inspired to sit down and work on a portfolio today. Cuz, yeah. Don’t have one. At all. I’m sure 99% of the non-comstock websites I’ve ever done are dead and gone by now. Just to test that theory, I tried pulling up one site I was rather proud of… I went through two total redesigns of this site in my time with Voyger/Vol/Duro… southwings.org. Well, it’s all new.. redesigned and not by me.. but I’m positive that the thinnest little green strip along the top and bottom of the pages is using the same background that I made for them with my first redesign. A little element they liked and retained. *sigh*

Let’s see what else… OH OF COURSE, the website for the Chattanooga Lookouts baseball team is different, especially since they’ve built a whole new fucking stadium to play in since I’ve worked on their site. *sigh*

Holy shit… I-75 carpets.com still exists exactly as I created it back in 1999. Even so far as it still has the “This site designed and hosted by Voyager Online” at the bottom. Too bad that site was lame in the first place.

Oh well.. couple other sites I tried are also long dead. Looks like even the royal-pain site Medlaff is now defunct, or has joined with Nursetoon. C’est la vie. I’m old and Comsuck has sucked up my entire creative existence for two full years now. Started that Comsuck job right before Valentines day in 2001. Now here we are.. all full circle and looped back over ourselves again so we’re essentially in the same rut. Ghei.
