oh, thank god it’s finally here….
… it’s ten days without Jason Churchill around! What? You thought I meant Friday? =)
Actually it’s also ten more days without Billy, but it seems when he gets back from this, that we’ll actually only have 30 more days of his company before he moves to Hawaii for a year. Pity. I bet he won’t keep in touch, either. I dunno about Jason, he might. He did bug me for info on LJ and wanted to make sure my email addy’s were on his “non-spam” list. I dunno. Does anybody really care?
So, today, in honor of the first day in a long while that Mr. Churchill hasn’t been around to harass me into foosball or pool — yeah yeah, I know. he really has to twist my arm — I actually packed my lunch and have solid errands plans for lunch. Perhaps over the next 10 days I’ll manage to get some shit done.
It seems like I’ve really been letting everything fall to crap lately. Oh, well, I have caught up significantly on work so that I’m actually getting assigned design projects again (after what, 3 months?) But home, well, I think home is a huge pile of laundry spread throughout the house. It’s ghei. It’s actually horribly depressing, so that I can barely even stand to be in our bedroom w/o the lights out so I can’t see it piled everywhere. Hell I think there’s still a load of towels downstairs I meant to wash.. 2.. 3 weeks ago? Our towels are crap, anyway. We need all new towels.
Blah.. I have the desire to go spend money. Good thing I don’t have the money to spend. I’ve just been thinking lately about all these cds I want to buy… feeling out of touch or something. But, well, I guess I’d better worry most about finding a suitable outfit for the 99x Big Hair Prom on Saturday.
Well, it’s 9:30… there’s probably a plane to bound to Hawaii (er.. L.A first, I guess) flying overhead. Perhaps it’s time to enjoy the silence and get some fun design stuff done for once.
Hope the posse enjoy their presents tonight. Which reminds me.. I need to hunt down scissors now.

I usually use “gey” or “geigh”. …Yeah. This is such a worthy comment, I swear! π

Hey are you my mom? (are you? i really don’t know) Because unless you are I will run to and fro with these scissors.. and they’re not safety scissors either, so naaa. Watch me now! Here I go! I’m running! Look at that! I’m zigging & zagging. Watch me cut things while I run, isn’t this fun?
hrm.
Wonder if we have any eyepatches in our first aid kit here.

I’ve always been partial to ghei myself. Perhaps something to do with the way I say the word… guh-hey.. when i’m feeling.. retarded. Which is often.
Though, LJ spellcheck suggests that instead of “ghei” i might have meant: Geo, hie, GE, GI, Ge, Geri, heir, HI, He, Hi, he, hi, GHQ, GUI, Gae, Ger, Gui, gee, sheik, Theo, their, Che, Chi, GED, Gen, Hew, Hui, Mei, Pei, Wei, chi, gel, gem, gen, get, her, hew, hey, lei, phi, she, the, Gaea, goer
Anyway.. this is a worthy reply.
Hi. How are you? How’s the new job?

Pei Wei is a pretty good restaurant, if I do say so myself. It’s just a small PF Changs!
I’m doing great. Really excited that I am finally hired on as an actual employee. It actually makes me want to WORK. Ah, at least for now, heh.
And thank you for asking. π
Aren’t you on the Atkin’s diet? I’m pondering it, but I still have a lot of doubts. I am definitely a carb addict.

Yes, dear one, I am singing the praises of Atkins right now. I’ve lost a little over 20 pounds in five weeks.
I tried to get my mom on it last year, and she is a MAJOR carb addict, so I did some research and found out about other low-carb lifestyles that aren’t so restrictive. She’s been trying that and says she feels better and has lost some weight.
If you can… give up sugar and caffeine… you’re on the right track. I know, sugar is life, I agree, but you must discover the wonder that is Splenda and use it instead. At our Kroger’s store you can buy Endulge brand chocolate bars, sweetened with Splenda that are kick ass good for chocolate cravings. They come in plain, crunchy, peanut butter, carmel… all the basic chocolate food groups.
Problem with Atkins is it tells you that you can’t have natural sugars either, like from fruits and some veggies. Most other low carb lifestyles give weight to the vitamin & fiber content weighted against the natural sugar content, to make restricted servings okay.
But the biggest thing to get used to on Atkins is no refined flours… so no white rice (sushi-cough-yeah, I stick to that one), so white breads, no tortillas. If you want bread, you are restricted to dark, multi-grains, w/o added sugars… so no enriched wheat flours.
And.. there’s the whole no potatoes issue. No pastas. Per atkins. But for general low-carb life.. pick a sweet potato over a red potato (more fiber content), and use whole-wheat pastas instead of regular. And, as always limit the old serving sizes of all.
Listen to me babble on! I just have to say I recommend a low carb lifestyle. I just feel healthier and happier without the moodiness I had when I reached for sugar quick fixes or caffeine boosts, and I’m losing weight.
If you want more advice, feel free to ask. I could probably look up that book i bought for mom if you wanted. Or, join for info/support.

Oh, I’d seriously love to know what book it was. And, of course, if you have any other recommendations!
Last night I bought a huge case of bottled water, which I am currently drinking. Do you have any quick info about tea? I usually only drink it at restaurants. But if I need to stick to water, I will.
I will look the community over. I really appriciate the detail you’ve already given me. π

This is the book I recommend, unless you want to try out actual Atkins. But, honestly, my mom looked at Atkins and went, “yeah, right”. It’s not so bad for me because I never was a big bread eater and was already picking other veggies over potatoes most times. That and I CAN live on meat & cheese. Mmmmm.
